ARTIST STATEMENT

The joy of creation is sacred to me. When I create I start with my intuition. I dream in colors, they completely overtake my thoughts. I lose myself in the paints and inks, and explore. I let my mind run freely as I feel my way through the colors consuming my mind. Everything is an inspiration but I am driven by my emotions. As things come together I begin to ask myself what I need to say. My mind wanders through the stars while I settle on a reason for bringing these ideas to life. The message becomes tangible. I never question what it wants to say. I allow the message to write itself.

ARTIST BIO
I am a self taught painter from the corner of east Tennessee, where I currently live with my husband. I’ve been making art since I could hold a pen in my hand. All I've ever wanted to do is create, and I've spent my entire life working to make this my reality! As of 2017 this is my full time job. I didn’t go to college and I don’t have any achievements or awards but I have sold over 500 pieces of art through my small business. I’ve been making abstract art for over 12 years, though you will no doubt see faces in many of my pieces. I am a huge lover of contrast, and the color orange holds a special place in my heart. I take inspiration from everything all the time, with emotions being the driving force behind my creations. Currently I sell my art online via instagram and do local markets when possible. I also teach resin and acrylic pour classes locally. In addition to these things, I write birth charts. Most days you can find me in my living room/studio creating something wild or chipping away at birth charts on my computer. In my down time, when I have it, I’m playing video games, watching horror movies, or hanging outside with some trees. Mostly my life is consumed by art and my business and frankly I wouldn't want it any other way!
